The temperatures are dropping and we seem to be staying in the cooler autumn temps throughout the school day. Please make sure your child dresses in layers and comes to school with a coat. Please throw a hat and gloves into the backpack!
Read, read, read! Now that the students know how to read we are really working on learning to do it well in second grade. Even if a text seems like an easy read, we put emphasis on voice inflection while reading. It is important that your child reads every day to practice what they have learned in class and really apply it. If you need assistance finding "just right" books please let me know. I have plenty of resources available here to send home.
In math we are currently working on double facts, +0, +1, +2, and +9 facts. Regular practice at home will equal success in the classroom in their everyday math lessons.
